Bluetooth 4.0 may not be supported in the OS, but phones like the Lumia 920 and 820 have the hardware built-in. All that’s needed is something to enable it in the software. According to a Bluetooth exec, Microsoft has some news to share about Bluetooth smart ready at BUILD.

No. My Lumia 925 already has Amber and does not have Bluetooth 4.0

Would be nice to get 4.0 at some point. Most of the newer fitness type devices user BT4.0 which is why they only support devices like the iPhone and GS3/GS4 and Note II. Need me some Bluetooth.

Good to know the hardware's there, but the reason for them keeping it locked away? The official support from fitness devices on WP has been lacking..
