So I just ordered a white 930 from Amazon for great price.

Sold my 1520 and here is my take:

1. Very solid device. Was expecting a poor build quality reading some of the complaints but I'm impressed.

2. Definitely feels small compared to the 1520 and texting is going to be a slow transition

3. Faster autofocus vs the 1520

4. No heat issues except when I set it up and updated everything.

5. Screen is very nice but I still prefer 1520 IPS.

6. Love the size of the 930. I wish the 1520 was 5.5 inches. Six is great but a bit cumbersome on the go.

7. Speaker on the 930 is inferior
to the 1520 but still not bad.

8. Much easier to take photos on the 930 due to size and the nicer camera button.

whats the battery like? I lose about 1% every 30mins to an hour on standby and I don't have that much running in the background.

That's not bad actually. That would mean on standby for 12 hours you would lose about 12%-24%. It's a bit on high side if it's every 30 min or so.

My battery is awesome. I don't know what people are complaining about.

But I did turn off 4g as the radio will keep searching for an LTE signal. I don't have access to the 2600 band except when I am near Vancouver. That makes a big difference in battery. I also have NFC off.

Some more observations:

Video focusing and photo focusing are superior compares to the 1520. It's noticeably faster.

Minimum brightness is much brighter than the 1520. Kind of blinding at night lol

Yes about 1% an hour but when taken off of charge can loose 1-2% in anything from 2-12mins. Phones great ok on standby(1020 was better) and poor once used. Battery drops 1% every 1-3mins used. I have 4G but in doubt this is the problem. Also does get warm after prolonged use.

Hmm. That is not like mine. It stays cool.

I like the phone, works well and feels fast. I think the whole - camera opening, photo taken, gallery view process could be faster...the iPhone5S is MUCH faster at opening the camera app, taking a video/photo, viewing it, then going back to the camera to take another. Bit disappointing but not a big deal.

My 930 does get warm (not hot) when browsing the internet, or watching YouTube.

Haha sure. I've had so many phone (120 to be exact) that I've come to accept that every phone has it's shortcomings and positives. I've never found that perfect phone.

So far, very impressed with the phone and the quality of the raw images.

Thanks! Yes both set to auto with jpeg/dng option. I just adjusted shadows, contrast, vibrancy, and individual color to enhance the photos. So much more you can do with DNG files than a jpeg.

A tip to enhance skies is in PhotoShop or Adobe raw is to go into image adjustments>selective color and change blue luminance and make it negative to pop the blue skies in a realistic way.

Hey blue1k,
have you ever faced something like this? I'm really frustrated with my new L930! :unhappy:
