I thought I'd test out the low light performance first - the conditions were awful, with all settings kept at auto and distant targets in very poor light. I can't compare this camera's performance to other Lumia's, but it's certainly more capable than any of the HTC cameras I've owned.

I'll definitely start messing with the camera settings to see if I can get some better pictures out of it. For now, in comparison to my other smartphones in the past, I'm quite pleased.

Try lowering the ISO and raising the brightness a smidgen, that should take care of the fuzziness.

Arkansas isn't the most colorful place during the winter. I took each one in jpeg and in raw, and then tweaked the raw photo a bit.

I'm not a photographer or anything like that at all, just have access to some software. All of these were shot on my ICON on auto.

Far from a stellar shot, just had a minute to mess around before work. Didn't mess with the settings yet.

Actually, that's a tough shot to get right. That flake snow would be hard for an autofocus to latch on to, then add the straight on sun. Actually pretty impressive for "off the shelf" shooting.

First image taken with my Nokia Lumia Icon. Nothing special, just my wine from last night and Surface 2 64gb.

I look forward to taking many more much more important shots than this.

For us camera n00b, how do I access RAW images?
Make you have upgraded to the newest version of the Nokia Camea App, then go to settings and select 5MP+16MP RAW, then you can either connect the camera to your PC via USB or you can manually upload the photos to your skydrive when connected to wifi.
I have not found any other way to access them.

Nothing too crazy, just testing some manual settings.

Manual white balance and focus, then collage test.

Close up focus test,

Pulled these from my Skydrive. I'm not sure if it's the 5mp or 16, and I'm only seeing 1 of each image on my phone so I'm not sure where it's placing duplicate images.
