Current Note N7000 User. The NOTE II is just boring and I have considered the 8X. However, the ever so scandalous Nex 4 appeared in my dreams and now i'm torn between 2 models.
I was on GB on a while and running SLIM BEER( JELLY BEER) 4.1 ROM update. Though ,i must concur that this ROM is unstable and I hate it.
Why must it be so hard to configure 1 phone? I dun get the joy of flashing and flashing ROM over and over again.
Maybe it feels like porn to some geeks .
I do want to give Nexus 4 a try, since the Nexus line is the closest feel you got ever get for Stock Android. Like a Virgin..
em prostitutes like Samsung,Sony, LG,HTC have heaps of bloatware which #@!@#!!$ me everytime.
The 8x looks good, but feels good? I have yet to say since the phone arent in Telstra/Vodafone stores.
I know that the future is in Microsoft's hand. First Surface, WP8 , possibly a Surface phone, XBOX 720 ( bye Ps4)..
Is the time to sink my Android ship and hang on to Ballmer's left nutsack?
Do you guys feel that its time to change to WP8?
Have your say.
P.s. Black or Blue? ( Cali Blue looks dodgy in pictures though )

Black if you want conservative, blue if you go and look at it in-store first.
Anyway, why not give the Nex4 a go, if you don't like it, take it back after your 14 day period and switch to the 8x. If you like the nex4 better, switch back.

I'am currently going to for a black HTC 8x but change every hour or so. Keep worrying about all the bad news coming out of WP8; video sync, reboots and all. Instead of the Nex 4 though i'm kind of eyeing of the RAZR I only for the camera button.
I'm in Australia too, I am going to get one of Kogan at only $550 I would personally love to fondle the phone before purchase, but with Vodafone being totally quite that not going to happen anytime soon.
But yeah go black if you do go the 8x

Good news: Its coming next month or so ( xmas sales).
Downside: Its Cali Blue only. I guess they're playing it safe here , emulating what ATT did with the 8x colour line up. the Cali Blue will be available in 16gb though and the cap will prolly be 50up since this is a wp8 flagship here.
Telstra is selling their 8x outright for $696 if i am not mistaken ( its available in gizmodo. com. au )
Kogan has the best deal so far?

Best one I've seen yeah, it comes out to like $1000 when I threw on the LiveConnected $19 plan (1gb of data) to the outright cost of the phone.
I would go the Voda but they and really other Telco are dragging their feet in getting these phones out to us. I mean Telstra only just got the Lumia 920, and no one else has anything I've seen. Really a full month after America, c'mon guys...
That is a big downside it only be blue because its not my cup of tea and limits the themes in my opinion

I would get a doubleshot casing for the 8x . Cali blue seems to be worn off after few days being in the jeans of a user . Unless of course, you're in chinos/slacks/cargos/trackies, i dun see any problem at all.
The doubleshot casing only cums in cali blue for now, will snag it when black becomes available. & here i am holding a Nex 4 screen protector.
I may reconsider getting the cali blue under VHA for a 2 year contract & and Nex 4 soon.. hmm still wanking hard.. ( but a better phone might turn up next year and 2 years in phone years sounds like a decade in human years ) haha!

The bigger issue is the ability to download an attachment to the phone, as to be able to resend it within an other email. This is the feature that WP8 is lacking right now.
I also have a HTC OneX+, it is my private mobile phone, I only have it cause I need to be able to resend email and cause of my pictures and music. For business, or like every day, I carry the 8X, simply more stable and so much better with Hotmail and Exchange servers that it is my business / primary phone. But... the OneX+ has crashed... I got an update on the 27th, better now, but it still crashes if I switch use WLAN off during screen lock for an encrypted WLAN. My WP8... does not crash... WP8 is a good piece of software and the 8X a very nice phone.

did you prefer the black over cali blue? or is the latter colour only seen at the office?
btw, why are they being serviced?
I'm not really effy about downloading an attachment to a phone. I just need a touch screen phone like a Blackberry _+ great features. This is where WP8 steps in.
I had the 4 for a while, it was boring, got rid of it and didnt touch the 4s cause it looks the same . I got into the android bandwagon too early, and now when i am deviating that path.More people are heading over to Android seeing that they are not 'over the mountain' at what Apple had offered.
Personally,is 16gb alright for the 8x? I'm not going to put alot of music in it, mainly taking pictures. I just want to switch over to wp8 for the experience. Being ahead and appreciate live tiles. win8 pro has been great and so will be wp8.
I heard the 8x is a very beautiful device. It could be referred to as an WP8 version of the iphone5 haha.
I am actually considering selling off my note and topping up another 1xx aud for the Nex 4 and get a cali blue 8x on Voda's contract for 2 years seeing that i am able to upgrade in a few months time ( <6 months). hmm...thoughts?

I have two, a Blue one and a Black one. For the office I use the Black one. In our office, there are 4, 2 Blue, 2 Black. I recommend the Black one, it will stay Black. But Blue is prettier. There is also Yellow or Red... Why not. Look, get your color... The 8X is classy in any color... NFC and attentive phone are the two major battery hogs... Disable those. Read my tips and tricks for 8x battery life.
WP8 excels at Exchange and Hotmail and Gmail works. Skype and Whatsapp are still bugy. Rest is great. A also have a HTC OneX+, but it does crash once in a while... for this if your 8X works, it works. Can you get a 24h exchange warranty? We do that for ours, should one be faulty, during the time period we buy the plan for, we get a new one or a full refund within 24 hours. I like that, can you get that?
