FYI... I would say bestbuy.com is a good example of the average person's shopping habits. They're also one of the few sites that you can easily sort by "best selling." Amazon does this, but they don't offer the iPhone so I don't bother with them.

Personally, I'm surprised the T-Mobile version of the 8X is the best selling WP phone on Best Buy. I would have thought it'd be the 920...low stock perhaps?

You'll notice the 8x is the best-selling WP on all carriers. Why? I have no idea. It just is. Maybe one day we'll see HTC and Nokia battling for the 1 and 2 spot instead of in the teens.

I don't think this is much indication of anything. Most people have bought their 920's directly from at&t (free charging plate, exclusive online colors), Amazon (1 cent deals) and WalMart (initial 49 dollar deals).

Plus Amazon not carrying the iPhone skews the results because potential Amazon customers have no choice but to shop at alternatives like Bestbuy. Whereas WP8 sales are more evenly spread across retailers.

I think it also hurts that they are always seperated by color. Off course it makes sense, but all the 920 slaes added together most likely has it flirting with the top 5. All the 8X sales together may have it pushing the best selling device for Best Buy on a number of carriers.

I like what I am seeing and hearing as far as WP 8 1st generation sales. Seem to be very respectable, though probably not blow you away spectacular. The next wave of WP 8's will show how much WP has actually grown.
