Connecting compact camera with wi-fi to Lumia 625

Has anyone used a Wi-Fi enabled compact camera to send photos directly to their Nokia Lumia phone?

I've been looking at various cameras and tried unsuccessfully in several shops to connect my phone to a camera. Yes, I can either connect to the camera using Wi-Fi or vice versa but have not been able to transfer photos from the camera to the phone.

All of the cameras I've looked at require an app to be installed on the phone but, needless to say, these apps are only available for Android or Apple devices.

Unfortunately I don't think there are any that supports WP
