Can the driver somehow leave the phone skin alone?

What worked for me on that issue was to install Kaisertweak (there's most likely something similar for your modell) and switch back to HTC's dialer that way.

    Redfly dock

Well, it's a few months since the Redfly dock was shown for the first time. If I'm correct it should be rather trivial to build as it's just a Redfly companion without screen and keyboard. I'd surely buy one or two once they are available but there were no news about it for a long time. What...

    Today Backgrounds?

Hm, well I only got one of them (the red background) but maybe others can upload the rest if they have them? I also added a 800x600 version and a fitting startmenu background.

    Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or Android

The FAQ on Celio's blog (http://blog.celiocorp.com/2009/09/17/blackberry-on-redfly/) states this: "Q: Can I use the REDFLY I already own with a BlackBerry? A: [...] The two currently available REDFLY models (the C7 and C8N) will be compatible with BlackBerry devices. [...] The original REDFLY...

    Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or Android

Sorry to say that but I definitely read somewhere that the C8 will NOT be supported - which by the way I find pretty disappointing, considering that one of the major selling points for the Redfly was that you could expect it to cover more and more phones over time and not be bound to one modell...

    Redfly driver breaks TytnII

Well, I've tried digging deeper into the problem. Initially I thought it was actually dialling random numbers and that it might somehow have something to do with the fact that the driver replaces the HTC dialer with the original windows dialer (both of which is most likely not the case)...

    Redfly driver breaks TytnII

 I just got me a TytnII (i.e. Kaiser, with unbranded stock HTC ROM) a week ago after my last phone finally gave up. One of the main reasons for going for a TytnII was that I expected it to work well with the Redfly. Well, what happened after installing the RedFly driver is not so good: The...

Making Android more usable for the Redfly?

Well, to make it short, I just stumbled across this article here: http://www.liliputing.com/2009/07/thundersoft-makes-google-android-act-like-a-desktop-operating-system.html For the upcoming Android versions of the Redfly, this might be an interesting addition if it can be installed and run...

    Idea: "Redfly Keyboard"

Well, alright this may seem like a pretty weird idea but I was thinking lately that it might make sense to have a derivate of the RedFly mobile companion that actually comes without a screen... I mean, at the end of the day, the Redfly is technically like an external keyboard on steroids (well...

    Concept: Redfly Media Center

Well, here is an idea I've been thinking about quite a bit over the last weeks: Since I sold my last desktop pc (am only using a notebook now), I have a flat screen monitor and high quality speakers standing in my office (which doubles as our guest room) without any use for them. I've hooked up...

New Beta Mobile Viewer and Phone Drivers - build 192

That sounds great. Just downloaded it right away to test it, but that feature doesn't work. It just won't show anything when I call myself or send myself a text. Am using a HTC Herald and Windows Vista. I'm using a German language system (on both machines, actually). It will show a pop-up when...

    Network socket

After thinking about it a bit more, I believe having the possibility to attach a Redfly/Phone to a wired ethernet might be more important than I though immediately: One of the central marketing points for the Redfly is that it can be used as a lightweight terminal to access a virtualized...

    Network socket

That is indeed an interesting question. Windows Mobile does definitely have the capability (software wise) to support USB host functionality built in. The reason why only a few phones use it seems to be that it needs different (and probably more expensive) hardware to make a USB host as opposed...

    Redfly to be copied?

It seems i-mate is working on a phone/terminal combination that is suspiciously similar to the Redfly idea: http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/news.phtml/22376/i-mate-warrior-smartphone-laptop-concept.phtml It's only supposed to work with one specific phone modell, though...

    Network socket

Ok, it seems I was wrong actually. I just stumbled across this thing here: http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS9231315053.html I believe that'd do exactly what you want!

    Redfly 2?

Well, maybe the Redfly should come in two flavours - one for businesses and one for consumers. The consumer version could incorporate more features, a better shell on top of WinMobile and maybe even a large inbuilt flash drive while the business version would do away with all this fuss and...

Redfly and VGA (will it be addressed?)

After thinking about it, I believe the VGA issue might be one of the biggest problems for the Redfly. There are in my understanding two ways to overcome it: a new hardware generation which comes with a higher resolution screen just for VGA phones or new software (on the phone most likely) that...

    Network socket

Can't imagine a ethernet to usb adapter to actually work under Windows mobile. I suspect you'd need drivers to make it work which obviously wouldn't run under windows mobile... And as Wifi and 3G can normally be used it probably wouldn't justify the price of an inbuilt adaptor.

Redfly and VGA (will it be addressed?)

So the only solution might probably be new Redfly hardware with a screen with higher pixel density and higher resolution?
