    SP in your lap

it's horrible for using on a lap. it's a tablet or set on the desk unit. I'm not even happy on a plane because it requires too much surface area to be stable

Favorite Android launcher for Windows Phone fans?

I really wanted to use Square home 2, but after so many hours it would just lock up on me. I've been using Microsoft launcher for about 10 months now.

    Xbox One X Fan Noise

I did not have this kind of noise, but i had a weird noise before mine shut down. I was using it for probably less than an hour. I started it back up and it ran for maybe 5 mins before shutting down again never to start back up. I requested a replacement from amazon and it should be in today...

Mods modified my post which caused some lost context where I mentioned my 950xl was up for sale

    My windows vs Android experience

My experiment with the S8 + is over. Even with all I hate about android, the apps have made my time with the phone more enjoyable. Chromecast is a much better solution than the slow xbox one apps. Waze actually works. The apps make up for the inconsistent UI.

MS is just dangling the shiny object on a stick in front of your face. I've been waiting for the fruit for a long time. As a developer, I'm weary of .net core as well as anything else they put out right now. At least the existing technologies keep me employed. Window's 10 might be the...

Regarding lack of USB-C, it's just inexcusable on a brand new device at this point. I'm not saying that it should be usb-c only, I wouldn't want that for a very long time. I don't want to have to carry any adapter dongles in the future, and that future is near. For that reason I won't be...

Lots of feedback both up votes and my own entries. Tabs might come... Not holding out that it will be an RS3 feature though. If you don't believe me that Ms doesn't focus or stick with an idea long enough then you don't have enough of the history.

It's going to be the same as it always is. MS announces something that sounds great then they completely drop the ball. I'm done holding onto hope that things will get better. Even the new surface laptop is a joke without at least 1 usb-c port IMO. MS dips there toes into some technology...

You described the exact problem with Linux. There is a learning curve and for the average person they aren't going to take the time to learn it. Some people aren't capable of learning it. I play with the major flavors of it at work and there is not one that I'd recommend to my parents or...

    My windows vs Android experience

This is another win for android. MS has completely failed with media apps on the xbox one as well. I've found that just using the Chromecast controlled by the phone is much much better than the experience offered on xbox native apps. The fact that MS hasn't released something like this is mind...

The problem with permissions is they aren't granular enough, but with square home2, it needs those permissions to be able to have it's widgets work.

UI scaling is not what I meant by scaling. Windows mobile runs nicely on lower end hardware. Android does not. I'd argue that windows 10 doesn't run great on junk x86 hardware either. UWP is done with VS. Most developers have no interest in UWP for a desktop app because there are too many...

Microsoft's wind-down of its phone business "expected to be completed by end of June!"

Re: Microsoft's wind-down of its phone business is "expected to be completed by the end of the curre Not to mention the available phones were not that exciting. 2 unlocked 950xls was the worst purchase of 2015 for me

Will WM10 and apps continue to run when the OS is dead?

Supposedly gas buddy is dead. I don't think that app has been updated since it was built for wp7/8 Eventually developers will sunset any APIs they were using that have long changed and the usage is minimal on it. Most dev shops don't have unlimited resources to maintain legacy code or to ensure...

BUILD 2017 - Windows Mobile OS News

Even when you get news from MS you can't trust it until it's officially in the product. Sadly, even then it can still be pulled. The Android bridge is the best example of this. The iOS bridge was oversold. Xamarmin along with the Linux subsystem was the push last year and that had more to do...

I like you live in VS and choose to be a part of the future and i plan on making a diffence with my skills too! you should too!!" I don't think it's going to happen very soon, but I agree it will happen. I'm just not sure if...

Disclaimer: This is purely opinion with some facts sprinkled in. I actually love windows mobile, but it no longer loves me. I’ve had a windowsphone since Verizon took their good old time releasing the HTC trophy. That was fresh and actually cool compared to my aging OG Droid with the slider...
