Who is the toughest competitor for Microsoft?

I would say since Azure is Microsoft's most profitable by a long shot and losing out in the cloud would cause the biggest impact, Amazon is their biggest rival by far. BTW, Steve Jobs stole the GUI and mouse from Xerox.

Action Center not function well on FCU

I was glad to see that the FCU fixed a few issues that presented itself after the CU was released earlier this year, mostly the excessive fan noise and overheating issues. However, now there is an annoying bug with the Action Center where it no longer functions correctly. It worked right after...

Am i only person that thinks Nadella should go?

Not true. When WP7 was released Android had just over 100,000 apps and iPhone was dominating global marketshare. The difference is that Android was maturing quickly as Microsoft spent the next 8 months getting WP7 to a useable state with the mango release. I do agree with your assessment that...

    Frustrating Experience

There was a build prior to the Anniversary Update that did allow pasting of numbers for dialing, consistency has not been a strong point with these builds. There were Microsoft experts on hand for pretty much everything at Ignite except Window 10 Mobile. Where they actually had phones was at...

    Frustrating Experience

It's not often I have to only rely on my phone for a full week but while at Microsoft Ignite I was in that exact situation. I was at the first Ignite in Chicago and back then I had WP8.1, everything worked great because I could easily join conference calls with "Join Conference App". Even if I...

    Windows 10 Mobile Keyboard Woes

The swipe keyboard on W10M is the worst and it doesn't learn a thing as mine is still bringing up the same words that make no sense since the day I installed it, incredibly frustrating. Outside of words showing up with letters that I didn't even touch, or swiping words not even in context to...

There are certain words I can never use swipe keyboard to input no matter how carefully or slowly I

I haven't had a good swipe experience since WP8.1 was first released, since then it got worse with updates on 8.1 and 10 has just been bad all the time. When I use it I get "OK" entered ALL the time for on, in, it, as and a bunch of others, it puts OK where it makes absolutely no sense. I do...

Windows 10 Insider: Build 14385 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Does it happen when you move another window or shake it a bit? I barely shook a window today and all my windows minimized across all 4 monitors. I asked a colleague of mine running Windows 8 and he said his does the same. I guess it's a feature and I didn't know but it seemed a bit sensitive...

Windows 10 Insider: Build 14372 (including 14371) Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: Windows 10 Insider: Build 14372 (including 14371) Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring) On the slow ring and these last two builds have been terrible on my SP3 which is concerning for being one month away. Builds over the last several months have been progressively better and now I'm back...

Windows 10 Insider: Build 14366 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: Windows 10 Insider: Build 14366 Issues (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring) The last couple of slow ring builds have been pretty good on my Sp3 but this build has been pretty bad with a lot of fan noise and CPU running hot even though CPU utilization is not that high. I find this build has issues...

How is the 640 XL Handling The Redstone Builds?

14332 worked really well on my 640XL, 14342.1003 was really bad with a number of issues and bad battery drain as my phone went from 2 days use on single charge to 6 hours or less. Used WDRT to go back to 8.1 then jumped on the slow ring and have ben running 14295 with no issues and back to 2...

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) 14342 didn't like my 640 LTE either, although a hard reset fixed most of my issues nothing helped with the incredibly bad battery drain. I used to get just over two days prior to 14342 and 6 hours if I was lucky after. I couldn't deal...

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) It's a bad build, I'd wait for the next one.

    Redstone 14342 Store UI

Not a big fan of the app detail pages, I preferred the way it was on the previous version. I also don't like the new status bar for the download\install, looks like they removed the option to pause or cancel the install. I'll stick with the old one since it came back after a hard reset.

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) Ughh...although after the hard reset all my apps were available and functioning from the SD Card, all the apps were downloaded again to local storage basically using up all my space. I had to set to install apps to SD which then forced a...

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) Well, decided to hard reset my 640 XL and for the moment everything is operating normally again with the bonus of being able to hear Cortana talking now so that's a plus. I did a restore from backup and with most of my apps on the SD Card...

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) Tried soft reset but didn't help. Seems I can't install app now either, they download and install then get stuck at "restoring user data". I guess I'll have to do a hard reset.

W10M Insider Preview 14342 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Inactive)

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14342 Issues (Redstone branch) What a terrible build with 1003. My 640 XL was working like it was on a final production mobile OS, no major issue, great performance, no crashing or rebooting and insane battery life of 2 days. Since the 1003 update I basically received...

    New update 10586.122

Yes, that's my experience with W10M on my 1020 and Windows 10 on my SP3. For anyone that is not getting sound for the configured alarms after the .122 update, deleting and re-creating them fixes it. As for battery life it's not as good in .122 on my 1020.
