Post your latest Start Screen & Backgrounds!

re: Post your latest Start Screen & Backgrounds! Hi I couldn't find a relevant thread (not on the forum and not through google), but I have to ask if it's just me: Since updating to the developer preview yesterday (8.1 then 8.1 Update), my Photo Hub tile shows random images, 1 or 2 of which I...

Please talk me into a Lumia over Apple

I won't try to talk you into a Windows Phone from your iPhone, because I believe that you should stay with your (or a new) iPhone. Windows Phone would only give you feelings of frustration, remorse and anger. I have been a WP user since 2011, first Wp7 and now Wp8, and couldn't recommend it to...

    xbox music+videos live tile

I just got a WP8 after my old WP7, and this is driving me nuts. I used to love to put a nice artist image and have it nicen up my start screen, even after listening to music I would quickly play a song from an artist that looks good on the tile, and then paus and stopthemusic! it, just to have a...

    octaoled

OCTA stands for On Cell Touch. It's the technology that makes the screen assembly (screen, touch sensor and glass) thinner by combining them. I don't know what the A in OCTA stands for. Maybe because it makes it sound better than OCT.

Lumia 720 vs 920: Low Light

Thanks for posting this! I really like the 720. The 920 is impressive, and I am sure that in a city setting, taking pictures of buildings etc. at night, it would give you superior detail, but on this picture that was linked here, the 720 looks better to me because the 920 looks like there are...

    My Lumia 720 impressions

Nutella is from Italy  People in Europe have been eating that stuff for decades. So, Europe is really the Hipster who liked Nutella before it was cool with the North American college kids.

Is it possible that Microsoft deliberately holds on all well-known flaws?

The iPhone 4 came out in June 2010. 3 years ago. Windows Phone came out the same year a few months later, and had that flaw, and many other small flaws that Microsoft just doesn't want to fix even though they have been standard on smartphones since before 2005. It is beyond ridiculous.

    Windows Phone 7.8 performance changes

That was also there before. You just didn't notice it because the app or part of os (contacts, mail, messages etc) would open into the opening-animation instantly. I used to keep my finger on the tile without letting go to see if it animates into different angles, and it did/does. It's animated...

    My Lumia 920 Just Died

That button hold combination is the same thing as taking out the battery when your phone froze. It's just on phones that have a non-removeable battery. It doesn't reset anything as far as I know, it just turns it off completely/cuts off the power and then you turn it on again. You may have to...

Lumia 920 battery - Your opinions

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues Just like I said. It is very well possible that the phone is reading the battery level wrong and shuts off (because it does that automatically so that the battery doesn't deep discharge, which damages it) at a certain percentage point/voltage that it reads out...

Lumia 920 battery - Your opinions

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues They won't fully discharge anyway, because the Software turns the phone off when it hits a certain minimum capacity. The point is not that the battery needs it or anything, it's that the phone needs it. The battery gets charged to some point in the factory and...

Xbox music messing with mp3 tags?

Isn't there an option to turn automatic metadata download on and off? Zune has that, every other music program has that.

    820/822/810 cases and such.

The ones where the whole back is taken off (820, 810), could potentially get alternative backs that lock into place and are used instead of the original backmold. I'm sure Nokia will offer protective cases as they have done for the previous Lumias. Also, there's more than enough aftermarket...

Mobile syrup hands ATIV,8X, 920 hands on

Winterfang really seems to have an issue with Nokia... I barely made it to the second page and read over half a dozen of his posts where he is *****ing about Nokia, together with his ridiculous signature image it makes reading these threads unbearable, they transform into "Winterfang's last...

Trash-talking on the one who could push WP8 further.

Because he made it look like it had stronger specs than the others, which it doesn't. It has the same specs, same processor and RAM. It has a lower quality screen than the others, with that cheap Pentile panel. With 2 subpixels per pixel on the Pentile instead of 3 subpixel per pixel on a RGB...

After WP 8x appalling price, speculation on L920 pricing

This is another thing I don't get. It doesn't have an S4 quad-core processor, but an old A9 quad-core. How in the fkuc is that a positive, when that "quad-core" is not faster at reality than the dual-core S4, but uses much more energy? It's like saying having a quad-core "Core2Quad" is better...
