    Video Recording limit?

I've tried multiple times to record overnight videos using my 950 XL, but the videos always stop recording at the 2h 59m mark. Is this an artificial limit in WM10? I've tried recording to internal storage and to a microsd card but I experience the same issue. Recording at 1080p so I'm not...

    TV Show Offline Playback

I was hoping someone would be able to clarify the DRM surround shows and movies bought from the Store. I purchased The Walking Dead season pass through the Store app in Windows 10 and download the available episodes. I was thinking I would be able to copy them to an external drive and play them...

Surface 3 disk benchmark with Encryption on/off

In an effort to get a little more speed out of the Surface 3 I did some testing to see if encryption (which is enabled by default) had much of an impact on disk performance or not. I also tested with Superfetch disabled. Here's the results. I tested with CrystalDiskMark 3.0.4 and 4.0.3. The...

Wireless Speaker to Stream 1520 to

Looking for a wireless (wifi) speaker that I could use to stream music from my Lumia 1520 to. If I can stream from Windows 8 that would be bonus. So far all I've found is this speaker, but it looks like you need to buy an add-on wireless card for it. Plus it's a little on the expensive side...

iFixit is tearing down the Xbox One Xbox One Teardown - iFixit What have we learned so far? The hard drive isn't bound my any stupid proprietary connectors, but is simply an off the shelf Samsung 2.5" drive. To upgrade it you would need to void the warranty by opening up the Xbox One, but no...

    Lumia 520, the iPod replacement

I recently switched to using a Lumia 520 with a 64GB MicroSD card from my 64GB iPod Touch 5th gen after reading about Paul Thurrott's suggestion. Sick of iTunes, and I absolutely loath the Music app in iOS7. After using it for 10 days I did a somewhat brief writeup about my experience with it...

Comixology rotation, Surface 2 or 8.1 issue?

So I booted up Comixology on my Surface 2 and downloaded my comics from the cloud, turned off rotation lock and tried reading the comics in portrait mode and......nothing. They don't rotate at all. Went out of the app and tried some others and rotation worked on those. Re-installed Comixology...

My experience so far with the Ativ S.....as an mp3 player.

So I picked up an Ativ S a few days ago to use as an mp3 player, traded my old iPod and a Galaxy Nexus for it (this guy REALLY hated Windows Phone). Didn't want to give up my xbox music pass for iTunes or anything so decided to try out a Windows Phone as just an mp3 player. I've read that some...

    SD card size

So there are a couple relatively cheap 8S' I can pick up used in my area so i was thinking of using it to replace my dead iPod Touch. I know it supports the 64GB micro SD card, but does anyone know if it supports 128GB microSDXC cards?

    SD card reader issue

Bought a micro-sd card on boxing day, and ever since I've put in my Surface it's only randomly been identified by the OS. Sometimes it will see it and I can access it and sometimes it will not see it at all, even after taking it out and putting it in. I suspect there might be something wrong...

    Package Tracker WP8/W8 app

So I bought the Package Tracker app for my WP8 device. Love the app, definitely would like to also use it on my Surface, but it wants me to purchase the app on the Surface as well. Does the purchase from when I bought it on my Windows Phone not carry over to the Store in Windows 8/RT?

Anybody get a Call+SMS update in the Store? Should have taken a screenshot, but I hastily installed it. Now under Settings I get an extra option called "network+". It contains two options: Call Waiting On/Off, and a SMS character set selection.

    Patch Tuesday

Just checked or updates and there are 7 (104MB I think). Noticed one was a firmware update as well. I know most of the updates are security-related, but maybe they snuck in a performance update or two?
