I own both and am constantly swapping between the 2 ;). For daily business I prefer the smaller 930. The larger battery in the 1520 is not really a great advantage over the 930 in my opinion as the larger screen consumes more power when in use.

DId a 1h25min video recording with the 930 yesterday. The aluminium frame became so hot that I couldn't hold it anylonger ;). Using a flip case is the solution.

My black 930 hit the ground and the black "color" was gone around the corner of the aluminium frame...used a black marker to paint the damaged area (silver). Got a numbi leather flip case now ;).

Yes it does. I didn't hear the alarm clock when my 930 was lying on its back with the speaker getting covered. It was almost totally muted. Solution: Always place it with the frontside (display) down if you need to hear the alarm clock ;).
