As an addendum....friend of mine bought the new Samsung tablet same day I got my Surface...took one look at mine and traded his in for a Surface RT the next day!

Sounds to me like you're not satisfied with WP8 and perhaps have already made up your mind. Rather than me extoll the virtues of the platform I'd just say get the BB...or an Android...or an apple phone. Plenty of OS to go around; get the phone "you" want and be happy.

Neither...never owned an Android or an applephone. If I couldn't use WP8 I'd just reactivate my Torch until a "third option" became available...oh wait...BB Z10 ;-)

FWIW....had a similar issue but in my case it was the router. I had recently installed Win8 pro and thought there was a problem. From what I've learned recently routers often start acting hunky rather than just stop working. Just a thought.

I'm happy with my 920 as is but I think there will be evolutionary not revolutionary changes to attract other users. Thinner, bigger battery etc; pretty much the things you mentioned. I just hope things like the 32gb of memory don't get sacrificed. Faster processor and tweaks to the OS to...

Bought my black 920 on launch day (US) and it's had a Speck case on it with no screen protector since day one. Don't know what the back looks like but the screen is absolutely flawless. Keep it in a front pants pocket with no keys or change and, to this day, not the slightest blemish or scratch.

I think I can live with the registry hack and the g connectivity until they update this. Surface is just about the nicest Tablet out there and if they can get this right it'd be a homerun.

Any noticeable performance difference with the Surface running 802.11g? I played around with one at a Best Buy and noticed it was connected to a print server and seemed to doing fine.
