Considering “upgrading” from iPad Pro 10.5 to surface go. Have a few questions.

That should be plenty! The factory Microsoft unit is also 24W. It will still be plenty fast!

Considering “upgrading” from iPad Pro 10.5 to surface go. Have a few questions.

Hey derekeh actually, USB-C charging can be FASTER than the OEM charging brick. That's because Microsoft implemented the correct USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 specs which allow the use of high wattage chargers to increase the speed. You have to use a powerful USB-C charger, a phone charger is not...

    Easy clip for surface pen

Very cool! Too bad it takes away the ability to magnetize the pen to the side tho  I have seen a 3d printed clip floating around as well which is another option!

Surface Go Will Fail in the Education Market

I think you're missing the point... Microsoft sells software and services. The Surface hardware makes up less than 5% of MS's total revenue (sources below). Less than 5%. They DO NOT CARE about selling Surface Go. They want to sell Windows 10. The Surface line is a way to demonstrate to other...

Surface Go Standby desktop cmd or bat

Then you'll either have to turn off your wireless mouse or use hibernate instead of sleep/connected standby.

Surface Go Standby desktop cmd or bat

What is your end goal? I think there's a simpler means to your end.. All modern Surface devices are set to 'Active Standby' be default. That keeps the WiFi connection open and running for the computer to receive data for apps like email and other notifications while the device sleeps. This also...

A Must Buy for Business People on the GO

Very true! My Surface 3 was about the largest device that could fit on there!

Does anyone else flip their type cover around?

Totally agree! I didn't think W10 Tablet mode was all that bad... Until I resurrected my Venue 8 Pro, WOW! I purposefully left the device on Win 8.1 b/c I remembered thinking I preferred W8 tablet mode and it TOTALLY blows away W10 tablet mode. The animations, the gestures, the way apps...

My new surface go has a bar on the screen where it won't work.

If it's software related, check for Windows updates in settings and make sure everything is also up to date in the Store. You can try a factory reset to be sure, but if the above does not fix, it could be a hardware failure you run through Microsoft Support.

    Trade offered for my Go + cash = SP5 i7 256

From what I know, the warranty follows the device, not the owner! MS can see the Serial number of the device and check warranty coverage.

Does anyone else flip their type cover around?

Not very often actually. I just prefer the tablet portion to be as light as possible (even though the type cover doesn't weigh much at all) it does add a little weight and thickness. I always pull it off and just set it aside. I have done it on occasion though and always flip the cover so that...

Thoughts on the Surface Go price?

Perhaps that is true in international markets? Here in the US, the Surface Pro 6 128GB starts at $899 while the Surface Go 128GB starts at $599 which is $300 less expensive in favor of the Surface Go.

SurfaceGo vs Surface Pro M3 with keyboard

I'll echo HeyCori , I only chose the Surface Go because of its 10" size. Between the Surface Pro m3 and Surface Go I think the only choice is do you want a 12" or a 10" device because they are going to perform nearly identical in day-to-day. My saying goes, "If you want a laptop that can...

How are you enjoying your "Go"

Did you make sure to select "Left Handed" in Settings> Pen and Windows Ink? Every so often via update mine gets set back to right handed and it severely messes up the palm rejection. I can immediately tell and once I set it back to left handed all is well!

    Pen scratches side

Warranty is typically for failure, not cosmetics? It's intended to magnetize the pen there but it doesn't affect the operation of the device to have scratches nor do they require anyone to do so. Hard to imagine that as a warranty-able problem.

    Failed graphics card

To be fair, you didn't have a new device. As soon as you remove the plastic wrap it's a used device. Whether you put it on a shelf or use it 24 hours a day for 2 weeks it's a used device. It's pretty common practice for suppliers to trade your defective used unit with a refurbished device. In...

Weird camera shutter noise on start up and shutdown

It's definitely the camera/facial recognition hardware. Once it starts up and gets power it goes through a series of hardware checks and prepares the array for Windows Hello biometrics. I think it's also sometimes the shutter? I hear it too, but it's VERY faint. Really can only hear it if you're...

Have you unlocked your Go yet?

Wow! This is the first time I've seen a Hangouts app in the Windows store even though it looks like it's been around for over a year! And it has notifications too?? I swapped to Google Voice once they added VOIP calling beta, but this kinda makes me want to jump back to Hangouts.. Except...

Have you unlocked your Go yet?

Yes! I did make it about a week but honestly, I think Windows is the biggest benefit of a Surface device! A Windows device that acts like an iPad is worse to me, you might as well get an iPad. I want the flexibility and openness that comes with a full-fledged OS in a tablet form.

What happened to the third model of the Surface Go - LTE w/256GB?

It wasn't supposed to be in the October announcement.. It will be coming either end of 2018 or early 2019.
