I rarely have issues with my Surface Book. I maybe have one display driver crash a week and that's about it. The G key on my keyboard being much firmer than the rest all of a sudden, likely due to a hair or something, is the most annoying thing that has happened with my Surface Book

The "G" key on my keyboard is significantly firmer than the rest of the keys in my keyboard for some reason. I've never noticed this before until today. It's almost like something got in the keyboard and is providing extra resistance. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's driving me crazy.

The best value is going to be the cheapest, most powerful laptop. I'm saying that the Surface Book has the best combination of features and quality of any laptop at or below it's price.

I'm saying the Surface Book is the best combination of features of all laptops the same price or lower. You also don't seem to understand that it costs more for manufacturers to make powerful laptops in a small package than it does for them to make the same thing in a larger package.

There aren't any better packages. Show me some of these supposedly better laptops for the price and I'll show you laptops with bad keyboards, mediocre battery life, mediocre displays or lower resolution displays, bad keyboards/track pads, worse specs, higher weight, missing features, etc.

Swap it for a new Surface Book. That's not normal.

It's also larger and double the weight, only a 1080p screen, has half the battery life, no Windows Hello, and no pen support. It's more powerful, but that doesn't mean anything.

I can't think of a single laptop that is as strong of a package at $1500 as the Surface Book is.

I didn't either. Mine does the same as yours. It seems to use battery from both in operation.

I meant it would kill the battery life if it fully depleted the base before using the tablet portion of the battery.

I hope that's not the case. That would kill the battery life.

I don't think the Surface Book has a high failure rate. I think it just appears that way here.

You don't want any of the batteries to be fully depleted though. That will kill the life cycle of the battery

950XL. I like having a large screen.

I have the i5 without dGPU and I'm getting at least 8 hours at suggested brightness unless I'm playing a game. When word processing, I think I can hit 12 hours

I have virtually no issues with my Surface Book. The only issue I get on occasion are keyboard issues that are easily fixed by detaching the screen and reattaching it or rebooting.

Did you install all of the system updates? It sounds like you haven't.

I absolutely love my Surface Book.

For me, the Surface Book is the strongest overall package. It's great at everything. I didn't like the track pad or keyboard on the x360. Plus the x360 suffers from heat throttling. My second choice from the Surface Book would have been the Dell XPS13. It's also an excellent laptop.
