i also downgraded back to wp8.0 with my 925 and the problem has gone. my battery life is back to normal and the camera is working again.

omg thank you so much for the tips to revert back to wp8! when I updated to wp8.1, the phone was running super hot and draining the battery really fast (2-3 hours dead from full charge). at first I suspected wifi/cellular/bluetooth etc but then I realised the camera app wasn't working either...

i have this problem with my Lumia 925 when I try to open the default camera app or any of the nokia cam apps, it just goes to a blank screen and then back to the home screen. only started doing this after the 8.1 update. phone is also draining battery and running hot after the update :(

i have tried a hard reset and the camera app is still broken. needless to say the phone is still running hot and draining fast. I'm fairly certain that the 2 problems are related. i hope Microsoft comes up with a fix soon.... :(

I've just discovered that I have this problem too. None of the Nokia camera apps work and neither does the default camera app. I also have a serious overheating/battery drain issue with my 925 now and I believe the 2 problems are connected. I have done a hard reset but sadly it did not work :(
