I'm on 10586.420 and today messaging will not open at all. Not even the settings for it. Is this just because it got updated or is it just me! Crashes every time, even after a restart.

Same issue here, just searched and found this thread. Hadn't noticed in xl but on 950 I noticed it today! After leaving and turning screen back on I noticed to didn't do it straight away. I wonder if this is harmful to the phone? Will be trying xl tomorrow!

thanks for that! as I just posted on that forum this isn't acceptable. I have no issues hard resetting my test device but my main phone I do. its the reason I didn't install any insiders builds on it! there must be another way to fix this bug?

I am on 10586.164 and think this is unacceptable for my untouched Lumia 950 running an official software version. I should not have to reset my main phone. its way too much hassle! I hope Microsoft can fix this asap
