Is the icon still worth it?

It's a good phone, but not worth an upgrade. If you want one, find a used one to buy.

    Official 8.1/Denim for the Icon?

I agree for the most part, but the Icon did (for me) and does (for other diehards) have issues with 8.1. The wi-fi has problems staying connected, and you won't notice it for a while. For me, with unlimited data, not a problem. For others, it is. I don't think 8.0 has that wifi issue. But...

    ICON or iPhone?

If that's your only two option, get the iPhone. The future of the Icon and WP on Verizon are unpredictable. I would say though, that there are some very nice Android phones on Verizon. If you decide you want to come back to the Icon, you will always be able to sell the iPhone, make a profit...

New 930 - Horrible Battery Life

Actually since Icon, I've used an HTC M8 Windows (much better than Icon battery and has 801 processor), Droid Maxx (awesome battery life), LG G2 (excellent battery life, especially with custom Rom, has 800 processor), and an LG G3 (with custom rom and 801 processor, better than G2). My wife...

New 930 - Horrible Battery Life

I had an Icon, basically a 930, and battery life was one of the reasons I got rid of it, that and Verizon. Anyhow, I have used several phones with the 801 processor and it's so much better than the 800 for battery life. You shouldn't have to shut everything off to make it through a day with...

Microsoft looks to Windows 10 ... NYTimes

Interesting article from the NY Times about Windows Phone: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/19/technology/microsoft-looks-to-windows-10-for-a-jolt-in-the-mobile-realm.html?ref=technology&_r=0

Exactly which app does the Windows Phone not have that you want/need?

Cisco AnyConnect, Yahoo Fantasy Football, Google Translate, Xfinity Connect, working Flipboard.

Current 928 user...upgrade to Icon or wait?

If you are committed to Verizon, and want a Windows phone, and are getting one on contract, I would not get an Icon. Either get a used Icon or get an HTC M8. The M8 is very nice and the camera, while not as good as the Icon, is decent. Also, any future upgrades for the Icon are suspect, while...

New videos reveal just how fast the Lumia Camera update is with Denim (Hint: Very fast)

That's impressive. It's improvements like this that would cause me to come back to WP from Android. However, I still have the problem of being on Verizon, lol.

    google play store app

It's not this. It's just that phone apps only work on the system they are designed for. You can't put ITune apps on an Android, just like you can't put Windows Phone apps on an IPhone.

    VZW Apps updated

I find it interesting that you have Navigator and Tones on your phone. I thought those were basically bloatware and useless apps. You know you can remove those right??

Why are MSN apps available on competing platforms?

Re: MSN new app for IOS and Android is available!! I used these apps on my windows phone and they were good. Surprisingly, well-designed news apps are not really common on Android. These are well designed and the MSN Sports app is one of the best for monitoring NFL scores. Compared to the WP...

Sad and true...Tom Warren giving up on WP

I would have stuck with Windows Phone if I wasn't on Verizon. I really don't see much future with that relationship. And that is going to hurt WP because Verizon is so big in the US. I can live with the app issue, but it sure is nice to have almost any app I want on android.

Is anyone else getting tired of waiting for MS to get it right?

Microsoft has a nice product with Windows Phone. The problem is selling it and converting Android and IPhone users and that is difficult. What makes it even more difficult is the exclusive phones and the US carriers. For me, I'm on Verizon and will stay on Verizon. Everyone knows that the...

    From Windows phone to Android?

I don't know all the phones you all are using, but I'm using the LG G2 and the there is no comparison between it and the battery life on my Icon. The LG is so much better. It's also better that the WP M8, which is better than the Icon.

Is there any option to login and logout of ONEDRIVE from my Windows phone?

Re: is there any option to login and logout option of ONEDRIVE from windows phone? On Android, you can under the OneDrive settings menu. I don't see that option on the WP version.

Lumia Icon - How many of you have had "problems" ?

I can tell you this. I used two Icons and both had wi-fi issues with DP. After a reboot, it worked for a day or two, on the same network, then you would look at the settings and it would not be able to find the access point. A reboot corrected this. My wife has an Icon but I'm not sure it's a...

I accidentally deleted my photos from my Nokia Lumia 520. How do i retrieve them?

Isn't backup to Onedrive set up by default on Windows Phone? Even so, if people have important photos on their phone, why don't they consider that the phone may go bad or get lost or get destroyed. Always have a backup and know where it is.

Talk me into an HTC One M8 for Windows (Outcome: Never buying an HTC product again)

Re: Talk me into an HTC One M8 for Windows Let's put it this way. If you want to stay on Verizon and Windows phone, the HTC One is really the only option you should consider. However, the camera isn't as good and yes, HTC support is suspect. You could get an Icon, but without the firmware...
