Same here, since well before Black Friday. I've kind of enjoyed the silence. However ... I'm running Win 11, beta edition, and am wondering if the app just doesn't work with Win 11's insider versions.
I want to continue to use Hey Cortana ... but I don't want her hollering her responses all over my office, or interrupting whatever audio I'm playing, to respond. Is there a way to silence her, without otherwise disabling her?
I've got that problem with both my Surface Pro 4 and my Acer laptop. (Same audio driver in both, I think.)
And when trying to test or teach Cortana my voice, it freezes the Cortana panel over the top of the start screen panel, locking me out of the Start Screen AND the power on/off icon.
Bought a new Lumia Icon (cheap!) to replace the old Lumia Icon a couple months ago when its battery died ... now locked into the last fast-lane upgrade that works w/ Icon, can't run Kindle ... but other than that, it's what I'm sticking with until it dies. When it dies, I'll choose again.
My Lumia Icon's battery is dying. Other than battery life, I'm very satisfied for now with build 15063.2 (ver. 1703). If I could replace it with another (used) Icon, would MS let me update it to the same build?
The Audible.com app worked adequately for me on the Lumia Icon with Black and 8.0 or 8.1DP ... but it is dreadful now with Denim and 8.1.1.
