hmmm. interesting. that guide skips the bit that is on the MS page that it refers to. On the MS site it tells you to create a recovery from a working machine and then copy the unzipped image over it. I'll try it this way

yes, you can flick it between skype and sms with the drop down next to the message box. However the linking of your contacts with their skype accounts seems to be a bit random and it doesn't always see the sms contact as the same as the skype contact (even if you have them linked in your contacts!)

code request seems to be working on mine again now after an update

mine stopped working but is back now. there is an option in settings now to get a code on the non-phone and enter the code on the phone. On a previous version this didn't seem to be working but all looks good now. (I had to refresh the code to make it work)

i presume it's an accident but my skype preview app just got an update that removed the SMS function!
