I totally agree. WindowsCentral is becoming so desperate for viewers that they're scraping the bottom-of-the-barrel and resorting to pornography? As if it's hard to find pornography w/o help? Please stick to actual tech news and not trash.

Hi! Here's my 2 cents. Not aware of the porn that is alleged on WC; but I doubt that WC is desperate for viewers. Sure, there were more viewers in the past, but all large help forums are experiencing that.

Yea, it was the same with small cinemas in the late 80s in the UK. As video took a chunk of the market and multiplexes the rest, they closed down all over. Some tried other things, commonly trying to go the 'blue' route showing adult films to dirty mac wearers. It didn't work where I lived and they then shut for good. I'm a bit worried to see the same story playing out here. I didn't expect that.

Here's the deal - VRH is a new site, and a big part of building a new site is focusing on the questions being asked by users. Want to know what the #1 (by a LOT) question we get after people have purchased a VR headset? "Uh, can you watch... adult stuff on this?" and the answer is yes. Actually, it surprised us just how yes the answer was. There's way more VR-related adult stuff than any of us realized, and right now that material is increasing by an order of magnitude each month.

Any of our VR content that is related to Windows-based VR headsets gets shared to Windows Central, and that includes the adult content. What I hope becomes clear with this message is we're not re-sharing old content when you see articles with similar or identical headlines over the course of a month. The articles have all been thoroughly researched and constantly updated, because they have to be in order to stay accurate.

As for not wanting the content or feeling the content cheapens your overall experience, I'm afraid there's not a ton I can do there. We flag the articles as [NSFW] so it's clear not to click on them in sensitive situations, but it's clear from an overwhelming majority of the responses we get from these articles that we're answering a question many people are asking right now.

Unfortunately that is the world for you...and will never go away. Since internet has now been alive for over 5 decades or so, it is a very widely used tool for that type of content. I started seeing the articles myself, and could not understand how that is relevant to such a public site. Understandable that most of the VR public might be into it, but that does not mean it has to be published. What people want they will go find and get, regardless of whether we you or I make it more noticeable.

There is no need to bring the perversion over here. This has always been a family-friendly site, and should remain so. Putting "NSFW" on an article means nothing to the teens and pre-teens who use this site, and should not be subjected to the perversion.
