I've been working on a big update for my Kingdom Hearts app, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/guide-to-kingdom-hearts/9wzdncrd1lm9 and I started thinking.
I would like a way to deliver nightly builds of my updates, so the users can begin using the new features before the update is 100% complete. I created a simple page that included a Button that was linked to the .xap, stored on my Dropbox's Public folder. I'm running Windows 10 Mobile, so when I tested the Button, it automatically began downloading the file, but it came to my phone as a .zip instead of .xap. The phone didn't know how to install it as an app.
Is there something that I missed? Or is there another way I can deliver something akin to nightly builds?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE:
I thought to go into the File Explorer and manually change the extension from zip to xap. The phone then recognizes it as an app and when clicked on, it asks if you want to install, but even if you hit Install, the app doesn't install
