I assume Windows 10 S is faster and allows for more battery life as it only runs store apps, but how much faster is it actually?

The demo speaker said "15 seconds to boot, login, and open an app versus 40 on windows pro". But in practice no one has benchmarked this yet.

40 secs on Windows pro? It boots up way faster than that on my SSD

I wonder also how quicker is Windows 10 S

Well that includes login and "loading an app" (Dunno which apps they used, or which system they tested it on). I really want to know myself how well this claim stacks up.

I guess we do not know yet. It must be faster. It is not necessary to keep all the registry in memory and query it insane number of times when launching an app. There must be much less background housekeeping activity. My guess is that the difference must be similar to the effect of the Game Mode, that is, marginally faster but much less prone to sporadic slowdowns.
