Why are my calendar events disappearing on my windows phone?

As of a few days ago, most of my calendar appointments from Oct 2015-Aug 2016 disappeared. One reocurring event from this period is still there, but all other events apart from Sept 13th 2016 have disappeared! Just suddenly! Please can someone tell me why this has happened? How can I restore the events I've lost??

Login your outlook in pc to check if they are there. If yes, they will come back again.

maybe an error in syncing -or it's because of the change in outlook
