My AT&T HTC Titan II screen was smashed back in Feb., my 2 yr contract was up in June. I've been VERY patiently waiting for a new version of the 1520 to be announced. Alas it still hasn't happened, so I caved!!!!!!!!

I bought a new black AT&T 1520 32GB on Amazon. I did it on their "Next" plan so I'm not in a new contract. *HOPEFULLY* in Q1 or Q2 of 2015 they will announce the new Windows Phone 10 devices that are Microsoft branded. In which case I'll sell me 1520 on eBay, pay it off with AT&T, and get the latest and greatest on a new 2yr contract. I hate paying monthly for a phone instead of subsidizing it with a contract but I guess I'll live 6 months, maybe!

Regards,

I disappointed WP owner :(

Honestly, I don't think a 1525 will appear, all "sources" arent reputable. Don't be sad over a non-existent (as far as we are concerned) device, enjoy the fact you're packing one of the few top-of-the-line models of the tail end of the last generation and this one.

I agree with xandros. The 1525 is a unicorn. Even if it does come out shortly, the specs are a minor bump from the 1520.

I think you'll be happy with the 1520.

I agree it seems the next big model is being made for w10? It makes sense to coincide the launch with hardware.

Looks like I already regret it, looks like AT&T ******* removed Qi charging from it! WTF AT&T, why take a huge step 2yrs back in time?! I left Sprint and Verizon 3 yrs ago because AT&T was always getting the latest and greatest, so much for that :/ What next am I going to be disappointed about when I get it, grrrrr.

Oh well, onwards and forwards I guess.

they're sleeping with the competing standard, so they're trying to retard adoption of Qi.
You could sell it and get an unadulterated 1520 of course.
It's possible to hack Qi into it though.

Also I REALLY loathe that the 1520 has the old ugly body/frame/shape as the 900/920 as opposed to the 930.

I had a 920 for work and now have a 930 (ok, Verizon Icon version). The 920 was simply an awful phone to have a good grip on and looked terrible with the screen not even flush with the edges, plus the roundness made it look like a 5yr old girls plastic toy shiny colored toy. The 930 is perfection, much easier to grip properly, never slips out of my hands, feels fantastic. I really hoping the black 1520 I ordered is better than the shiny colored versions feel wise.

Honestly, I think once I receive my 1520 from Amazon tomorrow, I will have the feeling that I can't wait to be rid of it for whatever the replacement is next year that hopefully has the same design as the 930 and that time I will be buying the real version to get Qi, **** AT&T and their wireless charging standard nonsense!!!!

I'll just deal since I've been using Windows as a phone OS since 2003 and I'm just a die-hard Windows Phone ****** now lol. It's funny tho, people would laugh at me all the time for how large my Hitachi G1000 was yet now a phone the size of the 1520 is totally accepted as the norm and even awesome now, go figure, we knew 10yrs ago, the rest of the world was just ignorant still haha!

Uhhh... That's not true at all! The 1520 has the same shape as the 925, which is definitely very different from the 920. I happen to think the 1520 is a very thin and good looking phone. (I'm using a 930 right now)

Ok thanks for the correction, I feel much better then! I've never seen or held a 925 but if it's different from the 900/920, that's all I want lol. All the review videos I saw on YouTube made it look just like the same design as the 900/920, to me.

I don't care about thickness, I just know the 930 is light years ahead design/build quality wise and I guess I was hoping for the same from the 1520 since it's also the current flagship, I didn't realize it had over a 1yr old body design.

I think you'll like it, it's not like the 930 but it's very sleek with thin bezels.
