growing system storage

I just bought a Lumia 640 a week ago. Overall I am they happy with the device. It does not quite match up with the 1520 I had before (which I had to ditch because of problems with the touch screen and mic), but it was a great price. After only a few days, however, I noticed that my storage space was very low, even though I did not have very many apps installed. Today it reached a breaking point where my twitter app is crashing and losing all its memory, and I can hardly do anything on the phone. Storage sense says that the system storage is 4.4 (!) GB, which is more than half of the storage that comes with the phone (~7.5 GB). Is this normal? Is there any way to fix this?

put in a sd card and move what you can to the card. Storage sense will help you with what can be moved and what can't.
