Windows 10 reservation update (kb3035583) not found

Hi,

I've come across posts where people who have installed the kb3035583 update, but the Get Windows 10 app icon is not showing up in their taskbar.

However, my problem is different. I have not received the kb3035583 update, and it is not showing up in Windows Update either. I haven't hid or uninstall this update in the past. Anyone else run into this problem and have a solution? I'm on Win 7 sp1.

Yeah, mine isn't showing up either. My laptop was bought brand new from from BestBuy with 8.1 installed on it. I don't see why it's not showing up. I have all the updates and the GWX thing.

Try this manual method to install KB3035583 after removing the existing one. It worked for me. Apparently many are having problems with the Win10 upgrade icon.



1. Uninstalled KB3035583 and restarted PC then ran Windows Update but found no update

2. Download kb3035583 x86 or x64 cab file below

3. Copy cab file to C:\temp

4. Open command prompt with elevated

5. Copy and paste x86 or x64 DISM command below then press Enter

DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:c:\temp\windows8.1-kb3035583-x86_dc717b43d95c7fd7c12fee2f13e0b17a412e41ee.cab

DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:c:\temp\windows8.1-kb3035583-x64_569671257f46c76e5f5d2f53b1c35500447ad302.cab

6. After the cab file installed the Windows 10 icon popped up on my taskbar.

It said operation completed successfully, yet nothing happened.
I already tried using ReserveWindows10.cmd, and that didn't work either. Neither did going into Task Scheduler and running GWX or going into C:\Windows\System32\GWX and running GWX.exe as admin. Nothing. Wth, Microsoft?

Did you first **remove** KB3035583, then download and reinstall following the steps in the procedure above? Near as I can tell, everyone who has done this has wound up with the Win10 upgrade icon in their taskbar.

Yep. I removed it and tried the steps.

Edit: It's working now. I think it helped, but I've restarted so many times already trying to fix this. Oh, well. At least it's showing up.

I just uninstalled kb3035583 and then used Windows Update to reinstall it. It worked.

ive tried multiple different methods and i really hoped this would work... but it did not can anyone tell me why... i uninstalled it put the cab file and ran the code and it said 100% done and all that... no icon apperared i reeboted and reeboted then rebooted again just to make sure .... but i still have no little windows logo

Hello, I was also looking around and found that KB2976978 was also needed. When I check for updated I can not find it nor can i find a place to download it. I was wondering on your opinion on this.

Same Here... i dont have KB2976978 update and also is not listed in hidden ones. I need to dowload this update but cant find it

I cant find it either,but its not really a problem. The ISO can be downloaded on the 29th or 1 month after and installed.

The official w10 ISO is going to be available 29th July.You have 1 month from then to download that and avail of the free upgrade.

There is also this link I came across I eventually got the icon. Although it wont let me post the link I'll find away around it. I had to experiment with the options it gave me.
