Colleagues,

Currently running 10525. Windows Update tries to update to 10532 but fails every time. The error code is:

? th2_release Professional 10532 - Error 0xc0000005

Anyone else having this problem? Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Thanks.

I don't even get it offered in Windows Update, also 10525 wasn't offered to me, I tried all the common fixes around the web but nothing helped.

My PC reverts me back to 10525 during that restart screen. It says "Restoring your previous version of Windows..." with a circular progress bar on top.

Got 10532 installed but it took 4 hours. It was stuck at 94% installed for 3 of the 4 hours.

Restarted very slow. I've had to use Google Chrome to get back online. The EDGE is now dead.

This is the same thing happening to me. 10532 just reboots and returns me to my previous version. What really sucks is I bought 10240 and now that payed version will not update. This has to be the most frustrating event from Windows yet, and I've been around since window 1.0
You can't get help from windows. There are so many weird install anomalies occurring with Windows 10, it's going to fail in the eyes of the public. It would help if end users could just go some place and down load builds and Microsoft would CAN this failing effort to update major builds via updates that are failing for many. Watch, MS want care, Bill leaving was a DISASTER.

Same issue here!

It goes to 62% in copying files, 18% on ring, then it reboots (I know it needs to go to 32% on the ring before a reboot happens)

Then previous version 10525 is running again.

When I use an ISO of 10532, the same thing happens, but then I get this error screen after the reboot:

Hey people looks like somebody found a solution.

Thanks Dragunov2, your screenshot helped me to reach this page: Problem install Windows 10 10532 - Microsoft Community

It is some issue with Hyper-V. It needs to be turned off.

Will try it and provide an update here.

UPDATE: Turning off Hyper-V allowed me to install the 10532, but after restart all modern apps stopped working for around 15-20 mins. But then everything became fine.

UPDATE 2: I am not able to turn on Hyper-V after update. This has also been mentioned in the Microsoft Community post.

Doesn't work for me, seq1. :eck:

Clearly the problem with mine is different, I'm still getting the same error code:

• th2_release Professional 10532 - Error 0xc0000005

I understand, being an certified system admin for most all MS products I can tell you this one is a tough one. I have two other computers in here all doing different things on and off the web and they updated fine. It's just this 5k build, my main machine that want update. (Asus MD X99 Deluxe with 32 gigs with ram drives for boot). I've done many approaches and I am Still continuing to investigate but the realizim is none of us should have to go thorough this.
I have a feeling it's a selective flaw toward particular MB and Bios systems. You can Bet Asus want give two S#$%'s and it's probably something to do with Bios 1801, just guessing here. My system is a new build and works fine in all other aspects. I had to bail on the Preview program because this same system would not install MS Builds. I would ask the guys here to indicate if they have been successful at installing to the Asus X99 anything, with 8101 Bios. Just trying to narrow the possibilities. Again thanks for those who are trying here and I hope each of you get passed this Microsoft BS. If anyone has a viable suggestion or thought fire away.

If you turn hyper-v off for the install there's an excellent chance you won't be able to enable it again once the update is complete.
Yes you are right. I was not able to turn it on after updating. But anyways I won't be needing it for some time now.
