    From Microsoft

Other changes, improvements, and fixes for Mobile

    • We fixed an issue from recent flights where the volume control might stop working when listening to music in Groove after an endpoint change (for example plugging in headphones).
    • We’ve improved speech reliability by fixing a bug where Cortana was unexpectedly failing with a connection error.
    • We fixed an issue where multi-turn Cortana speech interactions weren’t working (for example, when creating a reminder in multiple parts, as opposed to doing it in a single sentence).

    Known issues for Mobile

    • We have discovered a bug that causes background tasks to not run in the background like they should such as OneDrive’s camera roll sync feature. Please double check your photos have synced to OneDrive on the latest builds. We’ve got a fix for this issue coming in an upcoming build where background tasks will run again and your camera roll will sync to OneDrive as expected.
    • If your device experiences an unexpected reboot, in some cases you may lose your call, text, and email history may be lost. We’re actively investigating this issue. If you believe you’ve hit this, please up-vote this feedback item In Feedback Hub.
    • There is a bug in this build that can cause a number of inbox apps to fail to launch (such as Store). There is no workaround to reset the Store unfortunately. This issue also prevents you from taking any app updates from the Store if the Store works for you. A workaround for this is to uninstall the app and reinstall the app from the Store. This issue will be fixed in the next build. Speech packs may be unable to download on this build.
    • Some users are reporting that pages are constantly reloading or refreshing, especially while they are in the middle of scrolling them in Microsoft Edge. We’re investigating.

This build and version is the latest Redstone 2 build in testing for Mobile Insiders on the Fast Ring.

Is your device behaving oddly, is something just not right? This is the place for discussion of software and hardware issues!
Here is some useful information you may find yourself needing.
Some issues with responsiveness and app delays can be resolved by either restarting your phone or performing a Soft Reset.

If things get a bit more serious, you may opt to perform a hard reset or software reset.

Lastly, if things really get serious, you may need the Windows Device Recovery Tool to recover your phone back to working order - head over to the Microsoft FAQ Page for more information.

Make sure you check the official Windows 10 Mobile Support Page as well for some of the most common tips and trouble shooting guides.

Restarting your phone involves turning it off and then turning it on again. Turn off your phone by pressing the power button until you are prompted to "Slide down to power off". Turn your phone on again by pressing the power button until it vibrates.

A soft reset is similar to pressing the reset button in PCs and has the same effect as pulling out the battery of your phone and then putting it back in. For phones with non-removable batteries, press the volume down and power button together until your phone restarts. Be aware that when using Windows 10, the voume down and power button combination will also launch Windows Feedback. Just continue to hold down the buttons for a full 10 seconds in order to trigger the soft reset. For phones with removable batteries, you can either opt for the button combination or remove the battery and then return it.

A hard reset or a software reset will reformat your phone by removing all the user information leaving only the bare OS and firmware currently installed in your phone. It does erase data so you should always keep a good backup of your phone just in case you have to resort to this option.

The software reset can be done by going to your phone Settings > System > About > tap on "Reset your phone." You will be prompted once before doing this just to be sure. Be sure, also, to have everything backed up since there would be no way to recover all of your files.

The hard reset accomplishes the same thing as the software reset, but can be accomplished when the phone is non-responsive and you are unable to enter into settings. To perform the Hard Reset, "Power off the phone > hold Volume Down > press Power > keep holding Volume Down until you see the exclamation (!) screen, then immediately release the Volume Down. Now tap Volume Up / Volume Down / Power / Volume Down. You should see the spinning gears and your phone will reflash the last OS version held in recovery.

The Windows Device Recovery Tool is the final option, for example for "bricked" phones that would no longer turn on, be charged, etc. This can be used to either roll back to a previous OS version or force an update to a more current OS version

Remember, when reporting bugs be descriptive! The more information you give, the better the chance someone will be able to help you.

What OS version? Any special conditions that should be noted? What were you doing? What is the result? Any error codes or messages given? What have you tried for solutions? What variant of the phone are you using? Single SIM or Dual SIM?

Please describe as much as possible about the bug so others may try and replicate the bug and don't make suggestions for solutions that you have already tried which have failed.
When reporting bugs/issues, please also use the Windows Feedback app to report issues directly to Microsoft. Microsoft don't actively read forums looking for people reporting issues when they have a data collection system built right into the operating system. They use WF to analyse numbers and prioritise fixes (issues with more reports, get sorted quicker).

"You can use the Windows Feedback app to tell us which features you love about your Lumia with Windows 10, or when something could be better.
1.To launch the app, swipe over to the App list, and then select Windows Feedback.
2.See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft OneDrive.
3.If you find similar feedback, tap the Upvote or tap on the feedback to open it, write the problem details to Add details-field and tap Send.
4.To narrow your search to a specific topic, you can filter the results by picking the category that matches your feedback the closest. For example, for feedback about the Microsoft OneDrive, select Apps and Games > OneDrive.
5.If you don’t find any similar feedback, tap + to add new feedback. Select the correct category and subcategory from the dropdown-list.
6.Enter your feedback (the more details the better!), add a screenshot if you can, and tap Send.
7.Your feedback will automatically upload when you are charging your phone and connected to Wi-Fi, but you can also upload the feedback manually by tapping … > Upload feedback data."

No problem with Store. I just installed 1 app for testing (OK). Well, after OS 15055 update, there is many apps downloading on background (pending), but it is reinstalling them pretty fast ....

Finished downloading and installing on my 950XL and FierceXL.
Download and install went without issue and was pretty quick.
No black screen on wake up, or coming out of Glance.
All apps open and access without crashing.
    Edge seems stable and good.
Heat issue seems to be diminished and the Store app functions as it should, allowing app downloads and updates.
Did not loose any phone or messaging history.
Both phones seem quick and responsive.
    Haven't tested continuum yet...probably tomorrow.
All in all, at least for me, a stable build so far, we'll see what the weekend brings.

Continuum (wireless) and screen casting working fine even with LG TV (LG TV own miracast). No problems to switch between Continuum (wireless) and screen casting.
Idle battery consumption just 0,5 % / hour during a last night, so I lost just 4 % in 8 hours.

I think that they should focus on key apps now, to improve, Edge, Camera, Photos and of course, to push Facebook to improve opening time of their apps as well as to stay on a background properly, without slow reloading/resuming (Facebook and Messenger should be improved asap.)

For me the Store launches, but fails to update itself, getting an error 80070002, same with feedback hub. I tried to download another app and that one downloaded and installed just fine

About Store, it is a new update (11701.1001.87.0). It installed just fine for my Lumia 950 XL DS, but failed with my old Lumia 1520.

Did you rollback to 15047 from a later build and if so, how did you manage to do that?

Not possible to do so, yeah I loaded when it was 15047 as latest on fast.

I'd suggest you fresh start on 15055. You should be ok.

I have a Lumia 830, maybe this bug affects only older Lumias. My current store version is 11701.1001.85.0, the update that fails, is probably the .87.0

Just when you think it's going fine...it isn't. Turned on my 950XL this morning, went to check the store for updates, there where two, Store and Feedback Hub, both showing Error. Attempted to reinitialize both, failed. Uninstalled Feedback Hub, and reinstalled, no problem, installed without issue, however the Store upgrade continues to fail with error 0x80070002. Not sure what upgrade this is since it updated itself yesterday with version 11701.1001.85.0 after the 15055 update. Other than that, the build seems to still be pretty stable for me.

    UPDATE:

Just checked the same on my FierceXL and showed the same updates (Store and Feedback Hub), but both updated and installed with out issue, now the FierceXL is at 11701.1001.87.0 for Store. Odd...wonder if it's platform related.

Yes, got that on the previous 2 builds, not with this one, and have done a soft reset since installing, no SD issues so far.

All smooth install on 1520.3, including subsequent Store app update. Seems to have fixed a small bug where volume control was sometimes lost on Bluetooth speakers and ear buds.

Soft resets will crash the mounted SD card and then it takes forever (40 minutes or so) to do the file system check. Everything will be fine then, but much of your mobile will not be usable until the fs check is finished. Just one more crappy implementation of W10M.

    Solution: unmount first!

Are you sure that you are talking about the current insider build 15055 ? - it should be fixed in this build (well, there was a problem with the previous builds) ...
