so I figured I would get started with the new thread on the latest build, so those of you that rolled back from 10136 are you now on 10149?

Any new issues you've seen that weren't there in 10136?

I'll start off by saying, yes MMS still does not work on this build :unhappy:

So without further ado lets get this thread started...

Lumia 928: I updated from 10136 without a problem with this device. I had minimal configuration on it with 10136 ( default apps, no accounts installed ).
  1. I cannot add ANY accounts. I use Office 365 Exchange accounts so it is always simple. I get an error. "Something went wrong" There are no accounts already connected
  2. Start screen colors are improved but not as clean as 8.1. They still seem a bit milky
  3. Loading of any apps, and startup, is quite delayed.
  4. Read a News article ... scrolling is a bit jerky still.
  5. HERE now wants a separate Here account
  6. The error code for adding an account is 0x81030116 Does anyone know what that means?
  7. There are still multiple icons for some apps, ie Search and Phone.
I am thinking of flashing this back to 8.1 and trying again even though I had absolutely no problem with the update running. Then I can see what occurs and if I have the same problems.

Somebody else figured this out but you can add accounts if you do via the advanced route and then use s.outlook.com for the server.

That is some unusual behavior, I'm running this on the Lumia Icon which is the Lumia 929 (newer model of the 928) but some of those issues existed in previous builds as well.

Email Issue:
This is a known issue the workaround is to use Advanced setup and then use the server settings, e.g. for Outlook.com I've used the address of s.outlook.com (with no domain name)

Colors:
What type of color issues are you having? OLED are a bit weird on how they display the colors properly, what I've done in order to avoid that "pink'ish" color is adjust my display settings (you will need the display app I believe).

Apps:
Apps loading in this latest build are 100% smoother, build 10136 would always have that delay 'Loading..' message frequently. Perhaps the 'merge' or whatever the installer upgrade does didn't complete it properly. Maybe a hard reset for a clean install may alleviate this problem.

News Articles:
I've used MSN news and the Microsoft Edge browser and it runs pretty smooth

Here:
I don't use this anymore ever since they have the new Maps app, have you tried this yet? It claims to also have turn by turn voice navigation (still need to test this out)

Error code for account:
How are you adding the account? Via the outlook email or?

Multiple Icons:
I think the upgrade process didn't complete properly, there was an issue that after the upgrade is complete there is a moment where the unlock doesn't work (it won't show the time either) since its missing the UI that states its still upgrading your apps. Perhaps this process didn't complete properly OR you may have killed it by forcibly restarting the phone? Do you recall if I you let it sit tight for 10 minutes?

First, my Primary WinPhone is an Icon but it's not stable enough to use day by day so my testing is on a 928. ( I also have another Icon I can test on ... but my primary stays at 8.1 for now .) What I see on the 928 I also saw on the Icon when it was on 10136.

When I put 8.1 side by side with 10, both with the same background and colors selected, 8.1 is sharp and clear. Win 10 seems "milky". On the desktop we saw this many builds ago and then it was resolved. Apparently they were using a lower resolution graphics for the tiles.

The duplicate app problem ( with one being correct, the other not, uninstall not taking them away ) was a know problem stated by Gabe in 10136. That is why I think, even though this came across as a clean install, in actuality it is not. Reverting to 8.1 and reinstalling will answer that question.

I'm not married to any apps. HERE can go away and I will try the new maps. I did find it wanted to install some maps by default that I would never use ( ie. Bahamas ).

I have not tried the work around for email . I will once I reinstall, but that is simply a problem that needs to resolve ASAP, even for a test system.

There is a flutter when scrolling with News. Scroll down on an article and it snaps back a bit ... it's tolerable but just something that may be common in other apps ...

Now in the process of reinstalling ....

Can't seem to change the background image of the Start screen in this build.

That seems to be a known issue, for those that were able to replace then came the problem of image quality although you may have selected a high quality image what is actually displayed is Not. Which this may be the same behavior seen on the people images and/or images throughout the start screen. Although, my photos live tile now appears a lot better than the previous build.

Is anything running this latest build (10149) directly from Windows Phone 8.1?

My current tests are under:
  • Upgrade from 10136
  • Hard Reset of 10149 with No restore
  • Hard Reset on 10149 with a restore

I want to see if coming directly from 8.1 may resolve the MMS issues.

I have installed this latest build 10149 on my Icon.

1. installed it from 8.1, surprised the update went well with all my stuff migrated properly as far as I know.
2. I hit reset phone right away and setup as new phone - good practice for every preview.
3. Again, once you landed on the start screen, turn on Airplane mode to avoid app auto updating.
4. Uninstall every apps that is possible.
5. Reinstall them again from the Store Beta and other phone feature updates will work, EXCEPT...
6. 2 things are not able to update - Extra + Info and Transfer my data. Both have error 0x803f8001

I got my gmail, hotmail, exchange account working and syncing fine. changed lockscreen and start photos fine as well... will keep you guys posted.

I take it MMS still does not work on your current configuration?

Lumia 930, so basically the same thing:

Cannot copy any music/video files to the phone. Error message - "This device has either stopped responding or is disconnected". I don't think it's the files, because I'm trying to put files back on which were on the phone yesterday, and also I've tried other files: nothing works.

Using it on an Icon:
1) MMS not working
2) Did not receive regular txt msgs
3) It was fluid, a nice build but texting is my primary thing so had to go back to downgrade to 8.1

Seems like we have to have a thread for every phone that supports windows 10... Twice...
