W10M 10586.545 won't update to latest 10586.753

Hi,

I have a L820 & L520 with W10M. It was a insider devices when it was possible. Now they are stuck on 10586.545 & won't update to latest 10586 build, that is 10586.753 at the moment.

I have done two factory resets, but still they say that the device is up to date.

Does anyone have a clue why they behave like this?

They are still nice phones & I have them as spare and test. I would like to keep them up to date with latest 10586 as long as it is possible.

It's Microsoft who decided not to roll out any update for this Lumia phones

Yes, they are not officially supported so you will not get any updates beyond those.

Okay, so it is not a local device problem then, it is Microsoft that does the limitation. I read some where that they should continue with security updates for 10586. But they then have disqualified the Lumias from that if I understand you correct. To bad...

Any TechNet article on that, or similar?

You have to leave the Insider Program to get to the latest 10586 build

I'm lucky to have a MVLC account. So the ISO SW_CD_Windows_10_Mobile_Enterprise_1511_License_English_X20-86306.iso is now downloaded with the mobileenterprise.xml

Will take a look at how to build the provisionpackage tomorrow.

W10M Enterprise Provisioning Package created


I got two files, one .cat & one .ppkg . Is it only the .ppkg that is necessary to copy over to the W10M device?

I'll try to apply it when I'm back home in the evening.

Earlier today I created the .ppkg & now I also have copied it to my L520 & L820 . Did a check for updates, checked Defer upgrades & did a new Check. So now 10586.753 is downloading. So far it has worked out like a charm!

I almost forgot that I also have an L925 & this one have 10586.682 , like Grant Taylors L1020 above. So MS must have released it to public for some devices.

But now it has the W10M Enterprise .ppkg & .753 is downloading in that one also.

Just the .ppkg yes, copy it over and a prompt should appear asking if you want to apply it.
