Can't get more than two sections of 3 Medium tiles in start on specific Surface Pro 3

So in Windows 10 (Specifically using Build 10158 at the moment) you can add up to 3 medium tiles next to each other in a section.

On my own Surface I can add 3 sections next to each other horizontally, so a total of 9 medium tiles across the width of the start screen if I expand it to it's widest, or put it to full screen mode / tablet mode.

On a friends Surface Pro 3 with identical specs, he can only add two sections of tiles next to each other, for a total of 6 Medium tiles across the width. He gets this in full screen / tablet mode, and in the non full screen start menu.

Is there a known way to change this so it can show 3 sections next to each other? If you have a Surface Pro 3, how many sections / tiles are you able to fit horizontally?

It looks much better allowing all 9 medium tiles, so hoping this is how it's intended to be.
