If you've been running the latest preview the universal new hamburger navigation is widely spread across the OS. From Cortana to Apps.

Are you gonna buy their new approach? For me this new approach is really amazing and its much more better than their first approach on hamburgers. Very universal navigation and easy for 1 hand navigation on phones.

a thread about hamburger menus? again? :eck:

They're the new Denim update!

Personally, I dont mind hamburgers inherently. I think it works well in this situation.

As for mobile, its more iffy, but I think its still OK. It's just that I like the more panorama stuff. As long as it doesnt force me to reach up there all the time.

I don't mind Hamburger menu, this isn't new on UI design and been using on the web for ages.
The only issue about Hamburger menu is indeed on mobile usage ergonomics since its usually sitting at the top left/right. Microsoft can have a solution for this if they just implement swipe from the left edge of the screen, Android does this too in order to be bit more comfortable on one-hand use but not perfect.

As long as they don't dump all the mostly used navigations on Hamburger menu, its fine. Peoples app on Windows 10 Mobile for example still have Pivots control/Panorama view. What I don't like for example is on the new Music Preview app which they put all the navigations on Hamburger menu, I switch between Albums, Artist and Playlist alot, 90% of time! Alarms & Clock app on the other hand doesn't utilize Hamburger menu but they don't even use pivot controls, the tabs isn't swipable! I hope they change that before RTM comes.

Still I'm bit worried too that they will overuse the Hamburger menu which isn't good at many use-cases especially for one-handed mobile use.
