This is a strange one-I noticed this morning that fbl_impressive Professional 10158 was listed as a pending update with restart. Restarted, and still on 10130. Tried again-same thing. Thought it might be an incomplete download, so I removed everything in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and checked again. This forced the build to download again, and it did get to 100%, but then after the prompted reboot, still no update. There were no reported errors, and it didn't even boot into the windows installation UI, just straight into the existing windows install. Going through event logs etc now, but just putting this out there in case someone else has run into the same issue and has a solution. Will update post if I find something.

I think this might be something to do with the restart not being clean in the first place. I've been having issues with sleep/hibernate on 10130, and this could be related. System event log shows this:

The process C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (CHRISLAPTOP) has initiated the restart of computer CHRISLAPTOP on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Operating System: Service pack (Planned)
Reason Code: 0x80020010
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment:

Which is expected, but then these are there before the OS starts again:
  • The Sync Host_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
  • The Contact Data_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
  • The User Data Storage_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
  • The User Data Access_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).

And then this

The operating system started at system time ‎2015‎-‎06‎-‎30T13:13:55.495335600Z.

Flipping over to the application event log, I have this error:

Faulting application name: services.exe, version: 10.0.10130.0, time stamp: 0x55603340
Faulting module name: services.exe, version: 10.0.10130.0, time stamp: 0x55603340

So a service crashing on shutdown?

Continuing to investigate..

Received the update as well and it seemed to download and install as you said, but build still says 10130 after restart. No solution yet, but you're not the only one. I'll be watching this thread for a fix and if I find one I'll post it here.

Trying a couple of other things... I noticed that the update install created a hidden folder (C:\$Windows.~BT), so I tried deleting that and letting windows update recreate it. It just did this, and I ran into the same issue on restart. Trying to directly run setup.exe in there gives me an error saying that setup was unable to find boot.wim.

Is it possible that the new build just isn't modifying the boot config properly? It's still identifying that it needs a restart to install the new version.

I'm also running in to a similar problem. My update installs and restarts, but I get a blue screen of death halfway through and it rolls back to 10130. Second time in a row last night...

Found a solution-uninstalled the corp. Trend Micro AV and it worked. Of course, as soon as I installed 10158, 10159 came in, but both upgraded without a problem after that.
