Nope, current 32 bit applications would be able to install and run on 32/64 bit versions while 64 on 64 only
 
Well if your programs are dependant on a specific kernel version (6.4 and below) then yes, they might not work. Besides that's very low level programming reserved mostly for drivers development. If there is a particular software that you're concerned about then you should be reaching out to that software support. Regular software like office should work seamlessly
