Should Microsoft include a "Disable Desktop" option on tablets?

Specifically for tablets but as a standard feature in Windows. I mainly ask because of the videos showing Windows 10 on a small tablet. Basically just a mini desktop, which will probably be great for some, but might invoke thoughts of Windows RT for others. And the tablet mode, also great addition but not digging the taskbar still visible at the bottom. The Windows 8 Start Screen is perfect for tablets, Microsoft shouldn't just do away with the full version. I think options should be available to the user depending on what device they're using. Full Start screen for tablets, tablet mode for convertibles/touch enabled devices, and Start menu for desktops. Even if not, Windows 10 still shaping up to be a great OS. What are your thoughts?

Note that. The UI is not final so anything can change. But I think Microsoft will hide the all apps section and find by swiping right of the screen to reveal all apps on the left Also the OEM will determine whether it'll be tablet mode or desktop mode

The desktop is currently disabled in tablet mode, it is odd cause it still shows the desktop and the taskbar but the desktop is non touchable.

Atthis point Win 10 needs to do something to be more tablet friendly it is a huge step back for talets

Yes. But I do hope they would also make an app version of office and movie maker. Then for me the desktop for windows on my surface pro, would be obsolete.

YES! Was really hoping for a Modern version of Movie Maker - that fully featured by the way!

If it auto-detects that you're on a tablet and switches to tablet mode then why do you need a disable desktop option? Unless I'm missing something here.

If i were Microsoft I'd remove the start menu in tablet mode leaving the desktop as a home screen and a place to start applications. Then I would implement a switch that lets you choose between tiles, small icons, large icons and so forth.

That would be most ideal. A single user interface. Some how I get the impression that the roadmap microsoft has set for windows 10 UI will make that difficult. What I do see happening is that the start menu could become tablet mode. The tablet mode button in the action center on, would snap the start menu in place, giving an otherwise similar windows 8 like experience and unlocking more features within this full screen menu. It currently does this kind of already when I try it out on my surface pro.
