If anyone has been here long enough, they would know what I am about to waffle about and perhaps we can discuss this.
Windows Phone Mango (a major update) - SDK and OS launched within days of each other (were there public previews?)
Windows Phone 8 (another biggie) - SDK and OS launched within 48 hours of each other (were there public previews?)
Windows 10 (obviously a large update) - SDK released MONTHS before the actual OS.
I haven't looked at the W10 SDK yet, but those who have looked at it or read about it - is it as complete as Mango and WP8 SDKs at launch? Giving developers a 6 month lead for W10 IMO, is a major plus. I think MSFT has finally learnt from burns in the past that a platform with tons of apps ready for prime time from small and big devs is more of a success than those secret SDK apps at the launch. I am sure there will be those lucky ones that will get more of the pie than general public with updates to SDK, but what we see now, at least looks enough to start converting app from 8.1 to 10, no?
Anyone with better knowledge than me on this - is this SDK good enough to great exclusive W10 apps too? It would be interesting to see how demands from development community are fulfilled by the time a final SDK floats at the time of the release.
