Windows 10 build 10122. No sound.

System says "No output audio devices installed", and red cross upon sound icon.

Probably a sound driver incompatibility, such a thing should be expected in a pre release OS.

My case:
Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview
Evaluation copy. Build 10130

Audio device:
5.1 CH HD Audio (VIA? VT1705 Audio Codec)
Microlab Flat USB powered speaker
NO SOUND ?!

In Device Manager,
At,
Sound, video and game controllers
VIA HD Audio
Audio inputs and outputs
Headphone (VIA HD Audio)
Microphone (VIA HD Audio)
Speakers (VIA HD Audio)
Right click, Update Driver Software
Search automatically ...
Using most update driver from VIA Technologies Inc.
Driver Date: 11/5/2014
Driver Version: 6.0.11.600
NO SOUND still ?!

Solution found:
Right click the speaker icon (lower right),
Select playback device
Select Speakers, set as default device
In Properties, Advanced, Default Format

*******************
Any of 16 bit sound qualities good for me!
All of 24 bit sound qualities failed!
You may try changing the sound quality and test it out one by one.
*******************

Click Apply and OK all.
Restart if you want.
