Build 10130: VPN unusable

I've had problems with the VPN clients on Windows 10 from day 1. But, I am unable to get it working on Build 10130 at all.

I could never get Cisco VPN client to install, it hits an error every time

I have had Shrewsoft VPN client working prior to this build, but it is really hard to install. Usually I 1) uninstall, 2) reboot, 3) install Shrewsoft, 4) reboot, 5) connect - SUCCESS!

However, this isn't working with build 10130. I've tried various combinations of install and reboot at least 10 times.

I am able to connect to the remote VPN, but I am unable to connect to any websites or servers through the VPN.

Anyone have any luck?

As I work all day, every day through the VPN, I may have to go back to the prior build, or back to windows 7 if I can't figure this out today. (May try a clean install of this build too).:grincry:

Although I don't use any of the VPN clients you do I've found VPN to work fine with W10. The client uses OpenVPN, I've not tried L2TP/IPsec.

Re: Build 10130: VPN unusable

I'm having issues with some VPN clients on 10130 which I'm sure will be sorted by the vendors once the driver situation settles down.

However, the OpenVPN GUI works well enough for now.

If you can connect to the remote server then it might be worth looking into the DNS settings.

Does your VPN client have the option to use alternate DNS settings that you could point towards the OpenDNS or GoogleDNS servers? If that fixes the issue then you would need to contact your VPN provider.
