File History between OS's

So this is pretty critical: I use Win8.1's built-in File History back up to my external drive and it works great. What I need to know is, when I upgrade to 10, will it be able to bring that back up into 10 even though it was done on 8.1? Otherwise I'd have to go do it all by file; having it do itself would be much preferred.

Suppose its up to yourself to upgrade, you could wait a while before upgrading too see if other users are having issues in relation to your question and how to fix it. I suppose the term "upgrade at ones own risk" comes to mind on this one.
