Hi everyone !

I'm on build 10130 since the day it's been available and my PC is lagging more and more each day. It takes 5 seconds to switch a layer on PowerPoint, 2 seconds to open file explorer. Sometimes, my PC slows so much down that it lags when playing videos on YouTube. When I tap on the keyboard, it takes a moment until the text show up on the screen. I did a full system scan with my antivirus but nothing came up.

Im using a HP x360, 4GB RAM, Intel Pentium 2,16 Ghz.

Will my PC become faster with new builds or is it something else ??

Your PC will become "faster" when the RTM hits and most bugs are fixed.

Did you clean install 10130 or upgraded? because most Preview builds work better by clean install them. that's the problem of using Preview builds, you will always get some sort of bug no matter what.
That's why It's recommended to use Virtual Machines to test these previews, so you don't mess up with your computer and you can upgrade for free on July 29th.

New builds should work better, but it's a gamble. it might be your AV, your drivers, it could be anything causing the slowdowns. some people say clean install helps but nothing is for sure when it comes to preview versions.

Did you use Task Manager to see if you could find which process may be the culprit?

I oopened the task manager. When I open it, 70% of the CPU is taken by task manager it self. A few seconds later, back to normal (19% used by all apps)

See if your harddisk still has more than 10GB free, otherwise windows will be cleaning up all the time to save disk space, and that makes it slow.

Intel Pentium 2 at 16ghz, no such beast. I'm on a I7-3770K at 3.9 ghz. Fastest stock clock for a Intel cpu is 4 ghz right now. If you are actually on a Pentium 2, you wouldn't be over 400 mhz.

Yeah but a week ago, Build 10130 was running smoothly on my PC.

I have the same problem with lag. I'm going to deal with it till the next build(since they are coming faster).

I fresh installed 10130 on my desktop too, and I'm finding it's far slower than previous builds that I had in a dual-boot before. I've noticed in general that system processes (and Edge) seem to be taking up more resources than anything else in the task manager. I'm putting this down to a lack of optimisation/bug reporters running in the background. I'm running a custom PC with an i5-750 and 4GB of RAM by the way.

Mine is more responsive as far as using programs, as opposed to app, which I can't use because the Start button doesn't work! I can't use it at all to see the apps list, I have to right click to shut down. This just occurred three days ago, so some recent update caused it. Grrrrrrr.
