What's going on with windows reading list for windows 10?
Currently on windows 8.1 an phone 8.1 its a "universal" an useable via share on both platforms.

I have not tried windows 10 for PC, so I do not know what's going on at that front.
But for windows 10 mobile, it's currently a stand alone app, that's if you can get it to install. Currently i am still able to use it via share from third party apps.
If one looks deeper on edge for mobile it's been snugged in the edge hub, as of now.

Much appreciated for some light shared on this topic. Thanks.

Lol I feel your pain and I'm hoping that at some point it will truly be universal again... But I haven't heard anything concrete about this. You could jump to twitter and ask Gabe Aul :) He answers some questions...

All in all I think the "universal" aspect will be there again after a while

I haven't tried it yet. Updated my laptop to 10166 today and did the phone last night. I had some issues downloading the reading list app for the phone, but I'll check later again and report back :)

Sorry to hear. I was able to get away with it on the old store while on build 10149. It was stubborn to install but in the end I won 😊.

Edit: Let me know how it works out for you.

Any update on your news to report? :)

No it just won't download, seems to be the only app doing this which is annoying because I use it all the time.

Take a look, it has been like that for 2 days no kidding.

The old Reading List is going to remain a Windows 8.x app. For Windows 10, the Reading List is now built into Microsoft Edge.

On Mobile:
  • To view: Open Microsoft Edge, tap "...", tap "Hub" and tap the "Reading List" icon.
  • To add: Open Microsoft Edge, tap "..." & then tap "Add to reading list".

On PC/Tablet:
  • To view: Open Microsoft Edge, click the "Hub" icon and click the "Reading List" icon.
  • To add: Open Microsoft Edge, click the "Favorites" icon (the star), click the "Reading List" icon and click "Add".

Sorry for not reporting :D I was going to try the old store, but then we had only the universal store.....

Have it on my laptop tho.. Wondering if I could download it on my 635 (still on 8.1)

Lol I think we all know where to find it.. BUT we would like it (there are quite a few users) if the reading list app and the reading list build into Edge were connected.. After all they carry the same name (sort of)

Sorry for the late reply/thanks for the feedback 😉

Just to let everyone know. Windows reading list will install on mobile and desktop for 10 without a problem. Though for PC it just received an update which basically says it will discontinue, but can continue to use it. Also "provides" and tells you to basically switch over to edge reading list. The "provided" method is just a workaround, basically click on saved article which will open edge then save from there, per article. Very cumbersome, but seems to be the only option.
Alas no more share directly within an app...
