What happens if somebody using pirate version of Windows 8.1 or 7 (and he/she don't know) and update

They won't get the update or break their computers or what? (One of my friend's computer crashed and he asked me to help repair, and I helped him out and I needed to reinstall the OS on his PC and I fast downloaded an ISO, because he bought his pc in a shop with pre-installed Windows 7, so he don't have Windows Activation code, so now he have cracked version of Win7.)

Even if you buy your pc in a shop you need to have some kind of media where the key is on.

He bought his pc (somebody used before) in a small shop and the customer don't given any code to him.

OS must be pirated if pc is assembled... Shops charge around 3000 rs for genuine windows which rarely someone asks to install... Genuine OS comes in branded pcs or laptops... Though not necessary...

We don't support pirated copies of Windows here.

Buy a license for the current version of Windows, it's the best way forward.
