Posting this more as a public service announcement then anything else. A lot of people are going to be installing Windows 10 on older Windows 7 machines next week and unfortunately not all video cards shipped with these boxes are supported (at least currently)
I have an older Acer Aspire X1800 with on board graphics GeForce 7100. Not the best kit in the world, but it was always a good family truckster in its day.
Anyway, with a little searching and several frozen screens it became clear that I couldn't run anything but the default windows video drivers with this video card and anytime it came out of sleep the video was very blurry.
Off to the store and $40 later I am home with a GeForce GT 610 (Once again, not a gaming system). Drivers installed fine and the picture is clean and vivid.
Just a warning out there... Even supported systems may need a little refresh (or time) before you can get a clean install.
