Windows 10 build 10240 can't open Edge, mail and calendar,Search the web and windows,

When i try to open these,it crashes automatically. All updates are installed except the Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.203.563.0) which fails to install.
I can't open most of the inbuilt apps.
Any suggestions?

You could try a Rest PC if you can access Settings. If not there is probably a command line for it. You would then have to reinstall non-store apps. It has often fixed my issues.

I started saving my downloaded programs and started doing a Rest PC after upgrading builds. Gives you a clean install like upgrade.

how to re install inbuilt apps.....Tried resetting without removing personal data but shows error during resetting

I've always had a smooth experience with the reset procedure. At this stage I'd try contacting support through the support app. They actually seem rather helpful. You may want to do this before tomorrow as they will probably be slammed the rest of the week.

As a test you can try to create a temp local account and see if you can get it working that way, not that you want to make a new profile but it helps with debugging.
