I have an HP Pavilion dv6 laptop which meets all the eligibility to upgrade to Win 10 (Graphics, RAM, Processor, Win 7 Home Basic SP)
But during the rollout of Get Windows 10 app I had to install it manually & Reserved.
At the Check your pc section it showed "The report isn't available..".... and still showing...
There is a folder named $WINDOWS.~BT in my C drive. But it has no installation files just few files total of 32kb...
What is going on?
Should I trigger the manual update?
Is it safe? or should I wait?

I used the media creation tool to upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1 It worked fine. Paul Thurrott has an article about it here: https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/4909/microsoft-delivers-windows-10-on-iso

As long as you choose upgrade, your existing license key should get upgraded as part of the process. My Windows 10 install appears to be working fine and it says it is activated. In fact, the whole process only took about 20 minutes. It was great.
