What does this cryptic error message during W10 clean install mean?

My computer ran like complete garbage after the update. So I used the media tool, created a USB stick to do a clean install, booted from the USB drive. It begins to take you through the setup and I get thus error.

"the computer started using the windows installation media. remove the installation media"

Anyone know what I am suppose to do?

Remove the media?

I remember back in the Windows 95 and 98 days that when you installed from a CD, you had to take the disk out of the drive or the computer would just boot to it again and start all over. Maybe the installer has gotten smart enough now to let you know you need to do that.

In all honesty, Windows 10 has been a joke. Pain in the *** to install and made my computer that ran great with 8.1 now run like crap. And for what? So the cry babies can have their start menu back on the bottom left instead of coming from the right side of the screen?

This can happen when installing Windows with a USB drive. When the computer reboots when you're using a DVD, it will pause for a short time at the screen with a message like "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." and if you don't, it will boot from the hard drive. However, when using a USB drive it will generally just boot into it. Of course this depends on BIOS settings, but this is how it generally works with default settings.

A Windows install requires at least one reboot; sometimes more. If it reboots, it may simply start over with the installation because it will continue to boot from the USB drive. Since you're getting this message, remove the drive and reboot. It should continue on from where it left off.

Then don't use 10...

You don't have to boot from media to do a clean install. You can do it when the system is booted. I've been doing it this way for a while. Plus for people who don't wanna mess with BIOS/UEFI this is the better method IMO.

Is this not okay? I'm honestly wondering because everyone always talks about installing from bootable media, but can't you just run setup.exe within the ISO and when it runs, tell it to wipe everything?

Every time I've run setup.exe and select the custom(clean) install option, it tells me to restart and boot from the media.
