Action Center Disappointment

One of the features of OSX that I actually like during my brief exposure to that operating system is their version of Action Center. So when I finally got Windows 10 installed today and started to play around with it, I was quite disappointed in the Windows version of it.

I know that Mac's don't have Cortana so all of the info has to go in their Action Center, but it just seems easier to glance at the way they do things. Don't get me wrong, I love Cortana, but I don't want to scroll down, what can be a long list to check on the stock market, or get a sports score. I don't mind that info being in Cortana also, since she is a information hub, but it's not easily "glance-able."

I know it's still early days for the new system, but I hoped for a bit more.

What would you like to see in the new Windows 10 Action Center?

Dude that comes enabled for default! Just delete what you don't like in Cortana hamburger menu!

Wow. You totally missed my point. Cortana is not easily glance-able. Deleting stuff out of there would make her rather useless. Being able to include quick glance items, such as a stock ticker or sports scores in the Action Center, IN ADDITION TO CORTANA, would make for a better and faster experience.

Okay, just wait for couple of weeks, when new universal apps arrive they will probably have background notification support so they will push content to action center and you'll be able to see your sports scores in your action center.

What about using the apps for that? Their are Bing apps for finance and sports and they support live tiles. You pin them to start and their you got your glance.

That's not a bad idea except that you can't tell the live tiles to stay on a certain team, stock list, etc. They are always rotating new info, so you may have to wait a while until it get to the info you want.

Actually you can, you can pin individual sports teams and see just their scores and headlines.(At least on the phone)
