Windows Media Player Freezing/Does Not Work

So my favorite music player was Windows Media Player for my local library on Windows 8, but since updating, it freezes and will not work. I know we now have Groove Music to play local (or streaming with subscription), but has anyone else run into this problem or have a possible solution?
