windows 10 pro automatic update problem

so I finally upgraded to windows 10 pro....... but here's the thing the updates are automatic.
is there any way to make selections and then update like we did in win7 or win8.1?

Are you running home or pro version? Home version can't change any settings. Pro version can delay the installations.

The reason for Microsoft to do this is because they want all computers to be in tip top shape to run everything. This is because new features will be included in updates so if you don't have the updates some apps might stop working. I.e. They want to prevent os fragmentation in the ecosystem as that will force the developers to develop to the most common denominator which is the old windows 10 without updates.

That being said, there are ways around to prevent specific updates if you have a specific problem. It involves playing around with the registry which is not recommended for most users.

My opinion: They should do two tiers. One tier is required and Cannot be stopped. Another that can be stopped such as drivers.

Check windows feedback app and vote/add your suggestion. judging from the feedback. I think the current system will change a little bit in the coming month so hang on.

Finally, pirated copies will get updates but they are still officially illegal.
